Our Visionary and Integrator are struggling to stay aligned between our quarterly sessions, and it is starting to cause confusion down the line. How do we run a Same Page Meeting™ that actually prevents this executive drift?

When the Visionary and Integrator are out of alignment, the rest of the company experiences whiplash. If you are experiencing executive drift, it is because you are neglecting your weekly or bi-weekly Same Page Meeting™.

This meeting is not an operational status update. It is a dedicated, private space for the Visionary and Integrator to align their minds, hash out disagreements, and ensure they speak with one voice to the leadership team. The agenda must be simple and disciplined.

Start by checking in on your personal connection to ensure you are on the same page relationally. Next, review your issues list. This is where you use the IDS® process to tackle strategic disagreements, leadership dynamics, and big-picture ideas before they are presented to the wider team.

Keep the meeting highly candid and completely confidential. If you disagree on a direction, fight it out in this room, not in front of your directors. Once you walk out of the Same Page Meeting™, you must present a unified front.

If the organization senses even a hairline fracture between the Visionary and the Integrator, they will exploit it, causing silos and political factions. Commit to this meeting weekly or bi-weekly without fail. It is the single most important preventative maintenance tool for your leadership team structure.
