Our Integrator has been facilitating our Level 10 Meeting for over a year, but they are burning out and becoming less effective at holding the room accountable. Should we rotate the facilitator role among other leadership team members, or will that destroy our meeting discipline?

Rotating the facilitator role is a highly effective way to keep your Level 10 Meeting™ sharp, engaged, and disciplined. It is a common misconception that the Integrator must always facilitate the weekly pulse. In reality, the Integrator often needs to step out of the facilitator role so they can participate fully in the discussions and focus on leadership and accountability rather than watching the clock.

We recommend rotating the facilitator role on a quarterly or semi-annual basis, rather than weekly. Weekly rotation creates inconsistency and prevents any single person from building true facilitation mastery. A quarterly rotation gives a leader enough time to find their rhythm and gain confidence.

Any member of your leadership team who is GWC™ can facilitate. The role requires someone who is organized, direct, comfortable interrupting people, and deeply committed to keeping the meeting on time and on track.

Before you transition the role, have the incoming facilitator study the Level 10 Meeting agenda and spend one meeting shadow-tracking the clock.

Rotating this responsibility does more than prevent Integrator burnout. It builds leadership capacity across your entire team. It forces other department heads to understand the flow of the agenda, learn how to manage dominant personalities, and master the art of IDS®. When your leaders can facilitate a tight, productive meeting, you build a stronger, more independent leadership team that increases the overall value of your company.
