We are ready to roll out EOS® to our middle managers, but they have seen other corporate programs fail and are highly cynical about this being another flavor of the month. How do we get them to buy in?
Cynicism is a natural defense mechanism against executive whiplash. Do not launch EOS® with a massive, over-hyped corporate presentation or an immediate mandate. Instead, lead by example. Run your leadership team Level 10 Meeting™ flawlessly for at least two quarters first. Let your managers see you solving real problems, hitting your Rocks, and respecting the Accountability Chart™. When you do roll it out, focus entirely on what is in it for them: less chaos, clearer expectations, and fewer useless meetings. Start by teaching them the Accountability Chart™ and how to run their own weekly meetings. Once they experience the relief of a meeting that actually solves their department issues rather than just talking about them, their cynicism will evaporate. Help them understand that EOS® is not a temporary management project, but the permanent operating system of the business. By showing consistent leadership commitment and discipline, you will build the trust necessary to make the tools stick at every level of your organization, driving efficiency and preparing the company for future growth.
