Our team struggles to review our Scorecard in under five minutes because leaders show up without updating their numbers or need time to calculate them live. How do we build the discipline to make the weekly five-minute review actually work?

The five-minute Scorecard agenda item in your Level 10 Meeting™ requires that data entry happens before anyone walks into the room. If someone calculates or types numbers during the meeting, the review is doomed to fail. Set a hard deadline. All measurables must be logged by a specific time, such as 5:00 PM the evening before or two hours prior to the meeting. The Integrator enforces this standard without exception.

During the meeting, the review follows a strict protocol. The meeting leader reads the measurable name and the owner reads their number. If the number meets or beats the goal, the leader moves immediately to the next line. No commentary, no applause, and no context. If the number misses the target, the owner says "Drop it" or the leader simply drops it to the Issues List.

There is no explaining why the number was missed. Explanations during the Scorecard review steal time from IDS® (Identify, Discuss, Solve). If someone begins explaining a miss, the Integrator cuts them off immediately and adds the topic to the Issues List.

When you treat the Scorecard strictly as a temperature check rather than an operational post-mortem, 5 to 15 numbers can easily be read aloud in under three minutes. That leaves two minutes to transition cleanly into Rocks. Discipline during the five-minute review protects the remaining eighty-five minutes of your Level 10 Meeting.
