The weekly Scorecard review in your Level 10 Meeting™ is a diagnostic pulse, not a problem-solving session. If you are spending fifteen minutes on it, you are violating the EOS® framework by discussing the numbers instead of just reporting them.

To fix this, implement a strict protocol. The review must take five minutes or less. Go down the list name by name. The owner of the number reads the name of the metric, the target, and the actual number for the week.

If the number is on target, you say nothing and move to the next. If the number is off target, the owner simply says red and it is immediately dropped to the Issues List to be prioritized during the IDS® portion of your meeting. There is absolutely no story, explanation, or justification allowed during the review.

You must also ensure that the data is updated before the meeting starts. If someone is scrambling to find their numbers during the meeting, that is an accountability issue to address.

By separating reporting from problem-solving, you keep the meeting moving fast. The Scorecard is simply a smoke detector. You do not try to put out the fire while the alarm is still beep-testing; you drop it to IDS® and handle it there.
