As an Integrator running a fast-growing company, I find myself bogged down analyzing thirty rows of data during our Level 10 Meeting. What is the mental heuristic I should use to run the scorecard review section in under sixty seconds?
To run your weekly Scorecard review in under sixty seconds during your Level 10 Meeting, the Integrator must enforce a strict exception-based reporting rule. The scorecard review is not a status update, a storytelling session, or an opportunity to explain why a number was missed. It is a rapid diagnostic check to spot issues.
The mental heuristic is simple: we only speak when a number is red. The person who owns the red metric states the number and says, drop it down to the Issues list. That is it. No explanations, no excuses, and no group discussion are allowed at this stage of the meeting.
If a leadership team member starts to explain a red number, the Integrator must immediately cut them off and say, drop it to IDS. This keeps the meeting moving at a high tempo. You must trust that the actual problem solving will happen during the dedicated IDS portion of the meeting, where you have the time to properly diagnose the root cause.
Furthermore, the Scorecard must be fully updated by all team members before the Level 10 Meeting starts. If someone has not entered their numbers, their row is treated as red and immediately dropped to the Issues list. By keeping the review strictly focused on identifying exceptions rather than discussing them, you can easily review thirty rows of data in less than one minute.
