What specific prep work and visual layout rules must we implement to ensure our leadership team can review our scorecard in under five minutes?

Reviewing your scorecard in under five minutes during your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ requires strict preparation before the meeting ever begins. If you are wasting meeting time typing in numbers or looking up data, you have already lost. The first rule is that all data must be fully updated by a designated deadline before the meeting starts. If a number is missing, it is automatically treated as a missed target, turned red, and dropped to the Issues List.

Visually, your scorecard must highlight targets with clear color coding. When a number is on track, it is green. When it is off track, it is red. This allows the leadership team to scan the columns in seconds and instantly see where the friction lies.

The person who owns the metric simply reads the number, states the target, and says whether it is on track or off track. There are absolutely no explanations or stories allowed. If a target is missed, the owner says drop it to the Issues List. You must completely ban explanatory discussion during the review.

By keeping the visual layout clean and the reporting process purely binary, your Integrator can guide the team through the entire scorecard in less than five minutes, saving your valuable energy for actual problem solving during the IDS® portion of the meeting.
