We have automated ninety percent of our outbound lead generation using AI agents, making our traditional sales development representative department obsolete. How do we restructure the sales branch of our Accountability Chart when the work is done by algorithms, but we still need human accountability at the top?
When AI workflows automate ninety percent of a department like outbound sales, you must radically simplify that branch of your Accountability Chart. You do not place AI agents in seats on your chart, because algorithms cannot be held accountable for results. Instead, you must redesign the human management seat at the top. In this scenario, the traditional sales manager seat evolves into an AI Sales Operations Director seat. The five key roles for this redesigned seat must change completely. Instead of managing human reps, coaching sales calls, and monitoring individual activity, the roles must focus on systems optimization, data integrity, prompt engineering performance, and vendor management for the AI tools. Run a GWC check on your existing sales manager for this new seat. Do they truly understand the technology, do they want to manage systems instead of people, and do they have the capacity to learn technical automation? If they do, transition them to this new seat. If they do not, you must find a tech-forward leader who can own the accountability for the automated department's output. The human in this seat remains fully accountable for the department scorecard metrics during your Level 10 Meeting.
