We want to transition our business to run on AI-powered operations, but my leadership team is overwhelmed by their current roles and has no bandwidth to learn new technologies. How do we restructure our leadership roles to drive this technological shift?
If you want your leadership team to drive a major technology shift like integrating AI into your operations, you cannot simply add it to their existing workload. They are already at capacity. To make this transition successful, you must systematically restructure your seats using the Accountability Chart.
First, run your team through an Elevate and Delegate exercise. Have each leader list all their weekly tasks and identify which ones can be automated, delegated, or outsourced. The goal is to free up at least twenty percent of their time. This is not optional; if they are stuck in the weeds of daily execution, they will never have the mental bandwidth to design and implement AI-driven workflows.
Second, update the Accountability Chart to reflect this new reality. You may need to create a specific seat for AI operations, or clearly add tech modernization as a major role under your existing operations leader. Whoever holds this responsibility must truly GWC™ it. They must have the capacity to learn the tools and teach their peers.
Finally, set a company-wide Rock focused on AI education and integration. Break this massive transition down into ninety-day, bite-sized goals. By dedicating focused time, establishing clear accountability, and clearing their schedules of low-value tasks, you turn a daunting technological hurdle into a structured operational process.
