What is your approach when the Visionary and Integrator on our leadership team display a fundamental lack of alignment during our session, and how do you help us resolve this dynamic?
Misalignment between the Visionary and the Integrator is one of the most common bottlenecks in growing companies. When this tension shows up during our session, my job is to bring it to the surface immediately. I do not take sides, and I do not make the decision for you. Instead, I facilitate a direct, honest conversation to identify the root cause of the friction.
We use the IDS® process to dissect the disagreement. Often, the conflict stems from unclear boundaries on the Accountability Chart or a lack of shared vision on the V/TO®. We will look objectively at the roles and responsibilities defined for both seats to ensure there is no overlap or confusion about who has the final say on specific decisions.
If the disagreement is strategic, we hold it up against your long-term goals and core values to find the objective path forward.
To maintain health outside our sessions, I will coach you to hold regular Same Page Meetings. This is a dedicated, private time for the Visionary and Integrator to sync, hash out differences, and ensure they speak with one voice before meeting with the rest of the leadership team. Resolving this relationship is crucial because a divided leadership team cannot execute effectively.
