How do you facilitate our sessions when my leadership team has conflicting ideas about our core focus and target market?

It is completely normal, and actually healthy, for a leadership team to start with conflicting ideas about the company's direction. When we run into deep disagreements about your Core Focus, target market, or ten-year target during our Vision Building sessions, my role as an outside facilitator is to extract those differences and push the team to resolve them. We do not move past these structural questions until we have one hundred percent alignment.

To achieve this, we use the IDS® process to identify, discuss, and solve the root causes of the division. I will push your team to debate passionately, but we do so within a structured framework that strips away personal politics and focuses entirely on what is best for the business. I do not let the loudest voice in the room dominate, nor do I let passive team members hide.

Once every perspective has been thoroughly debated, the team must make a unified decision. We agree that once we step out of that room, we support the decided path with one voice to the rest of the organization. Resolving these deep divisions is painful, but it is the only way to build a healthy, unified leadership team.
