We have severe alignment issues and co-founder conflict at the ownership level. Should we resolve these ownership-level disputes before we book our Focus Day with you, or is EOS® the tool to fix them?

If you have deep co-founder friction or unresolved cap table disputes, you should not begin a professional EOS® implementation. EOS® is designed to align a leadership team around a single vision and execute that vision with discipline. It is not a therapeutic tool for resolving structural business partner deadlocks or ownership disputes.

To successfully launch with our Focus Day, the owners must first be aligned on their personal goals for the business. If one founder wants to build a lifestyle business to pass down to family while the other wants to scale rapidly for a venture capital exit, the system will break. These fundamental strategic disagreements will stall your progress during our sessions and create confusion for the rest of your leadership team.

My recommendation is to address ownership-level disputes and align on your high-level exit goals before we begin our engagement. Once you have a clear, unified direction at the shareholder level, we can use the EOS® tools to build the operations that support that vision. Initiating the process when the foundation is fractured will only result in wasted time, money, and emotional energy.
