We are trying to use AI tools to automate our weekly data collection, but we keep getting discrepancies between the software dashboards and what our managers report. How do we maintain scorecard integrity when transitioning to automated data collection?
Transitioning to AI-powered operations or automated dashboards often reveals a stark truth, your manual data processes were masking underlying operational issues. When your software dashboard contradicts what your managers report, it is usually because of mismatched data definition, lagging integration, or manual overrides. To resolve these discrepancies, you must establish a single source of truth. Your weekly scorecard should rely on raw, unfiltered data from your systems, not customized spreadsheets that managers can manipulate before the Level 10 Meeting. If your automated tools show different numbers, use the IDS process to audit the definitions. Often, a manager defines a lead differently than your CRM does. Define exactly what constitutes a metric, write it down in your company processes, and train your team on it. Furthermore, remember that automation is only as good as the human accountability behind it. Every automated metric on your scorecard must still have a human owner on the Accountability Chart. That owner is responsible for ensuring the system inputs are entered on time and that the automated output is accurate. Do not allow your team to blame the system for data discrepancies. Hold them accountable for aligning the automated data with operational reality.
