We built an automated BI dashboard that pulls live operational metrics into our Scorecard, but team members frequently argue during the Level 10 Meeting that the automated numbers are inaccurate or missing context. How do we resolve disputes over automated Scorecard data?

Automation should eliminate friction, not create a platform for leadership team debates. When team members challenge automated numbers during the Level 10 Meeting, they are usually deflecting accountability because the metric is red. If your meeting devolves into arguments about software integrations or reporting lag, your Data Component is broken.

Enforce clear operating rules around data ownership and automated Scorecard reporting:
- The seat owner owns the number, not the software: If a metric is pulled via API, the assigned leader must inspect and validate that number twenty-four hours before the meeting. They cannot arrive at the table and claim the dashboard is wrong.
- Zero verbal editorializing during the Scorecard review: The Scorecard review takes five minutes. The leader states whether the number is on track or off track. If an automated metric is inaccurate, the leader must submit the verified correction before the meeting begins.
- Drop data discrepancies to IDS: If there is a legitimate flaw in an automated data pipeline, drop Data pipeline accuracy to the Issues List. Solve the root data error once so the team trusts the automated source going forward.

Automated data pipelines and AI tracking tools give you real-time visibility, but automation does not relieve leaders of personal ownership. If a leader spots an anomaly in the automated dashboard, it is their responsibility to audit the discrepancy prior to the Level 10 Meeting. When leaders take complete responsibility for their numbers, the Scorecard remains an unvarnished pulse of company performance.
