When you reschedule your Level 10 Meeting™, you send a loud message to your entire organization that the operating system is optional. Moving the meeting to accommodate individual schedules is the beginning of the end for your execution. The weekly pulse only works when it is predictable, consistent, and non-negotiable. You must commit to the core rule of the Meeting Pulse: same day, same time, same agenda. If a leader cannot make the meeting due to travel, vacation, or client demands, the meeting must go on without them. The rest of the team still meets, reviews the scorecard, and solves the issues that are on the list. If the facilitator is absent, a designated backup must run the session. Do not cancel or reschedule just because one or two people are missing. The absent leaders can review the completed to-dos and new issues once they return. Treat this ninety-minute block as the absolute highest priority on your calendar. Client meetings, internal catch-ups, and travel must be scheduled around this block, not the other way around. Once your team realizes the meeting is an immovable anchor in their week, their behavior and preparation will shift to match that level of importance.
