What is the exact prep work each leadership team member must complete individually before arriving at a Quarterly session to ensure we do not waste the first two hours catching up?
Arriving at a quarterly session without individual preparation is a waste of your team's time and your financial investment. To ensure we can dive straight into high value strategic work, every member of your leadership team must complete specific prep work before the session day.
First, each leader must review their individual Rocks from the previous quarter and come prepared with their final completion status. There is no middle ground here. A Rock is either one hundred percent complete or it is incomplete.
Second, leaders must review their departmental metrics and identify any underlying issues that need to be added to our master issues list. This means looking at your weekly scorecard and analyzing why certain goals were missed.
Third, every team member must read through our current V/TO® to ensure their mind is focused on our long term vision, and review the current Accountability Chart to note any structural adjustments that need to be discussed.
My recommendation is to block out at least two hours on your calendar one week prior to our session day to complete this prep work. When everyone arrives fully prepared, we can complete our review of the previous quarter in less than an hour, leaving the vast majority of our day to focus on solving critical issues and setting clear, actionable Rocks for the upcoming ninety days.
