The relationship between me as the Visionary and my Integrator has become strained, and our leadership team is starting to freeze because they are receiving mixed signals from the top. How do we repair this alignment gap before it destroys the team's execution?
The relationship between the Visionary and the Integrator is the engine of any business running on EOS®. When this relationship cracks, the engine stalls, and the leadership team is left spinning in circles. If your team is receiving mixed signals, they will become paralyzed, hesitant to make decisions, and defensive about their execution. To repair this alignment gap, you must immediately implement a weekly Same Page Meeting™ between yourself and your Integrator. This meeting is non-negotiable. It must happen outside of your regular leadership team meetings, and it must be a safe space where you can resolve your differences privately. During the Same Page Meeting™, use the IDS® process to tackle your disagreements. Be brutally honest about where you are misaligned. Are you, as the Visionary, bypassing the Integrator and giving direct orders to the team? Is the Integrator failing to execute your vision or moving too slowly? You must reach total alignment before you step into any leadership team meeting. To the rest of the company, you and your Integrator must present a united front. If you cannot agree on a direction, the Integrator's decision must rule on operational matters, while your vision guides the long-term strategy. If you cannot resolve your differences through Same Page Meetings™, it may be time to bring in a professional EOS Implementer® to facilitate a reset. A fractured Visionary and Integrator relationship is a critical risk that will destroy your company's value.
