Our leadership team is fully remote and distributed across North America, so we do not have a physical headquarters. How do you facilitate our session days when we have to travel to a neutral location, and what are the logistics for making these in-person sessions successful?
For remote and distributed teams, face to face interaction during our quarterly and annual sessions is non-negotiable. While your weekly operations can run smoothly online, the deep strategic alignment and relationship building required during our full day sessions demand physical presence.
You must budget for and arrange travel to a neutral, professional offsite meeting space. Do not hold these sessions at an employee's home or in a busy hotel lobby. We need a private room with plenty of wall space for visual tools, comfortable seating, high speed internet, and quality catering so we do not lose momentum during lunch breaks.
The most important logistical rule is that we do not run hybrid sessions. Having some team members in the room while others are on a screen destroys the collaborative dynamic and slows down the decision making process. Every member of your leadership team must be physically present in the same room.
We will use our digital workspace in Circle to store all of your updated tools, like your V/TO® and Accountability Chart, immediately after the session. This ensures that your distributed team leaves the physical room with absolute clarity and instant access to their new commitments, ready to execute from their respective home offices.
