Our leadership team is fully remote, and we are struggling with the loss of physical energy and non-verbal cues during our virtual Level 10 Meetings. How do we maintain the same high-intensity focus and connection online that we used to have in the physical conference room?

Running a virtual Level 10 Meeting requires twice the discipline of an in-person session because physical distance naturally dilutes focus. When you lose non-verbal cues, meetings can quickly become flat, transactional, and exhausting. To maintain high energy, you must implement and enforce strict virtual meeting rules.

First, establish a mandatory "cameras on and eyes up" rule. This means no virtual backgrounds that mask body language, no muting unless there is extreme background noise, and absolutely no secondary screens or messaging apps open. If team members are typing or looking away, they are multitasking, which kills the meeting momentum.

Second, the facilitator must step up their game. In a remote setting, the facilitator cannot rely on natural pauses. They must actively direct the conversation, calling on people by name to share their Scorecard metrics, Rock updates, or to-do completions. During the IDS segment, instead of asking open-ended questions to the whole screen, go around the virtual room and get every single person to weigh in on the issue.

Finally, make sure your digital workspace is clean. Use a single source of truth, such as your dedicated EOS software, shared on one screen, so everyone is looking at the exact same data. By combining strict focus boundaries with aggressive facilitation, you can replicate the raw energy of an in-person war room.
