Multitasking during a remote Level 10 Meeting™ is a silent killer of team traction. When leaders are scanning emails or responding to Slack messages, they are not fully present for IDS®. This is not about treating adults like children. It is about protecting the high-value ninety minutes you have together each week to solve company-wide issues.

To stop this, establish a clear ground rule in your meeting charter. Every participant must have a single screen open with only your EOS® software or shared agenda visible. All email, messaging apps, and phone notifications must be completely shut down before the meeting begins.

The facilitator must call out distractions immediately. If a leader is looking away or typing during another person's report, stop the meeting and address it directly. Make it clear that silent presence is not enough. Everyone must be fully engaged in the discussion.

Another practical step is to increase the speed of the meeting. Keep the reporting sections moving fast so there is no downtime for minds to wander.
