We have a fully remote leadership team scattered across the country. Do we absolutely have to fly everyone into a single physical room for our Focus Day and quarterly sessions with you, or can we run these sessions entirely over Zoom?
While technology allows us to connect from anywhere, my strongest recommendation is to meet in person for your session days. The foundational stages of your journey, specifically Focus Day, Vision Building 1, and Vision Building 2, require intense human breakthrough and vulnerability. This level of alignment is incredibly difficult to achieve when people are staring at grids on a screen.
For a fully remote leadership team, the physical session room is often the only time you actually sit together without the distraction of Slack and email. We need that physical energy to build trust and solve deep operational issues. When you are in the same room, we can read body language, capture side conversations during breaks, and build a cohesive unit.
If travel is absolutely impossible due to extreme circumstances, we can conduct sessions virtually. However, this requires strict ground rules. Every team member must have a high-definition camera, a dedicated workspace free of distractions, and a commitment to treat the virtual room with the same respect as a physical boardroom. Even in a remote setup, we still follow the exact same agenda and time blocks. We will still run your full day session with regular breaks to combat screen fatigue. If we must go virtual, we will utilize digital whiteboards to collaborate on your Accountability Chart and V/TO® in real time. But make no mistake, physical presence yields a far higher return on your investment in this process.
