Since our leadership team is dispersed globally and works asynchronously, how do you handle the prep work and follow-up communication between our quarterly sessions to keep us aligned?
Working with a remote leadership team requires high discipline to prevent drift. Between our quarterly sessions, we do not rely on endless casual messages or unstructured updates. Instead, we use a highly structured communication cadence that mirrors the EOS® framework to maintain operational alignment.
Your main tool for keeping the team connected is the weekly Level 10 Meeting™. This ninety-minute meeting must happen at the same time every week, using video, with zero exceptions. It is the primary mechanism for tracking your weekly metrics, checking the status of your Rocks, and solving issues in real time.
To support your asynchronous environment, we establish clear protocols for issue logging. When an issue arises mid-week, team members do not send sporadic emails or chat messages. They log the issue directly onto the Level 10 Meeting™ agenda so it can be handled systematically during the IDS® portion of the weekly meeting.
Additionally, before each quarterly session, I require structured pre-work from each leader. This includes a review of your current Accountability Chart, progress updates on your individual Rocks, and a list of your top issues. This ensures that when we log into our virtual session room, we do not waste time gathering data. We can immediately step into the session and focus on driving execution.
