Our leadership team is entirely distributed across several states and time zones. How do you facilitate our quarterly and annual sessions with a remote team, and what operational modifications do we need to make to keep the energy and execution high?

To get the full value out of our sessions, we must prioritize face-to-face interaction, which means our session days are conducted in person. Even for fully remote organizations, we do not compromise on this rule. Your leadership team must travel to a central, offsite location for every Focus Day, quarterly, and annual session.

The deep alignment, healthy conflict, and strategic breakthrough work required during an eight-hour session day cannot be replicated over a screen. Zoom fatigue is real, and digital distractions are too high when people are sitting in their home offices. Gathering in person four times a year is a critical investment in your team health.

Between our sessions, however, your remote structure is highly compatible with the system. Your weekly Level 10 Meeting will be run virtually, using your digital dashboard to track your Scorecard and Rocks. We will set up your communication rhythms so that the remote nature of your team does not hinder execution.

My recommendation is to select a central, neutral city with easy flight access for all team members. We will secure a professional, distraction-free meeting space. By dedicating these few days a year to uninterrupted, in-person collaboration, you will find that your remote team actually executes with greater unity and speed than many co-located companies.
