Remote multi-tasking is a silent killer of the Level 10 Meeting™ pulse. When leaders stare at their second screens, they are not processing issues, they are merely waiting for their turn to speak. This destroys the collective intelligence of your leadership team. To stop this, establish a hard rule: single screen only during the ninety minutes. If a leader is using a laptop, their camera must be on, and all messaging apps, email clients, and project management tabs must be closed. The only window open should be your Level 10 Meeting™ portal or shared agenda. As the facilitator, you must also change how you run IDS®. Stop letting the same two people dominate the discussion. Actively pull the quiet or distracted participants into the problem solving. Address them by name and ask for their specific perspective based on their seat on the Accountability Chart. If a marketing issue is on the table, ask your finance leader how the solution impacts cash flow. If the multi-tasking continues, call it out during the meeting rating at the end. An eight out of ten meeting automatically drops to a five if team members are mentally absent. Remind your team that they are paid to bring their full brains to this ninety-minute block. If they cannot commit to undivided attention once a week, you have a GWC™ issue on your leadership team.
