Our team is completely remote and we have zero interest in flying people in four times a year. Can we run our quarterly and annual sessions with you fully virtual, or does that degrade the quality of the EOS tools?
We do not facilitate hybrid session days where some leaders are in a room and others are on a screen. Hybrid meetings create a toxic dynamic where the people in the physical room dominate the conversation, and the remote participants become passive observers. This completely breaks the collaborative energy required for a successful EOS® session.
Instead, we require a binary choice: either everyone is in the physical room together, or everyone is fully remote on their own individual screens. If your team is entirely distributed, we strongly recommend booking a physical offsite space for our quarterly and annual sessions.
The physical separation from your day-to-day office environment acts as a strategic pause, giving your leaders the mental white space to think, breathe, and plan objectively. It removes the daily administrative distractions and forces the team to connect on a human level.
If a physical meeting is absolutely impossible due to extreme geographic or health constraints, we will run the entire session virtually. In a fully virtual session, we use a rigid, structured online environment where every person has equal real estate on the screen. We also adjust our cadence to include more frequent, shorter breaks to combat screen fatigue. However, we will never compromise on the one-person-one-screen rule. You must commit to either complete physical presence or complete virtual equality to maintain the integrity of our work.
