Our leadership team has been running on EOS for two years, but lately our Level 10 Meetings feel like a checklist exercise and the team is showing signs of EOS burnout. How do we inject fresh energy back into our execution and prevent the tools from becoming bureaucratic paperwork?
When a leadership team runs on EOS for several years, the tools can occasionally begin to feel like a routine administrative exercise rather than a dynamic operating system. When this happens, energy levels drop, and your Level 10 Meeting can become stale and unproductive. You must inject fresh operational purpose to break this stagnation. Start by auditing how you run your weekly meetings. If your team is simply reading their Scorecard numbers and reporting status updates, you are doing it wrong. The majority of your meeting must be dedicated to the IDS process. If your issues list is filled with minor tactical items, push your team to identify the root causes of bigger, more systemic operational challenges. Next, elevate your quarterly planning sessions. Use these offsites to challenge the team to think bigger. Introduce a major strategic focus, such as integrating AI into your operational workflows or optimizing your processes for an eventual exit. By tying the daily and weekly execution tools directly to an inspiring, long-term vision, you remind your leaders of the purpose behind the structure. Re-evaluate your Accountability Chart to ensure everyone still GWC their seat and has the capacity to drive their department forward. Refreshing your commitment to these foundational tools will strengthen your leadership team to become more cohesive, functional, and healthy.
