We have been running EOS® for six months, and our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ has become dry and mechanical. The team is going through the motions, but the operational intensity has vanished. How do we inject energy back into our weekly rhythm?

It is common for a leadership team to hit a plateau six months into an EOS® implementation. The initial excitement of structuring the business has worn off, and the weekly Level 10 Meeting™ can begin to feel like a tedious administrative chore. When this happens, your meeting has likely devolved into a status update rather than a dynamic problem-solving session.

To restore the operational intensity, you must audit your Issues list. A boring meeting is usually the result of a weak, low-stakes Issues list. If your team is only solving minor, administrative tasks, they will check out mentally. You need to force the real, uncomfortable, and strategic issues onto the table.

As the leader, model this by raising the hard questions. Challenge the team on whether you have the right people in the right seats, or whether a competitor is eating your market share.

Additionally, review your weekly Scorecard. If your metrics are always green, your targets are too easy. Raise the bar. When you set aggressive, meaningful targets, your weekly numbers will start flashing red, which naturally forces your team back into an active, problem-solving posture. A healthy Level 10 Meeting™ should feel slightly challenging, not comfortable.
