We recently restructured our Accountability Chart to prepare for growth, and now several weekly Scorecard metrics don't have a clear, single owner. How do we redistribute these numbers without creating operational gaps or political friction on the leadership team?

Restructuring your Accountability Chart® is necessary for growth, but it often leaves weekly Scorecard metrics temporarily orphaned. If you do not quickly and clearly reassign these numbers, key areas of your operations will fall through the cracks, leading to friction and missed targets.

To redistribute these metrics smoothly, you must adhere strictly to the rule of single ownership. Every number on the Scorecard must have exactly one owner. If two people share a metric, nobody is truly accountable for it.

Review the newly defined seats on your Accountability Chart® and map each orphaned metric to the specific seat that has the GWC™ for that area of the business. Do not assign a number to a leader simply because they have the extra capacity. It must align with the core responsibilities of their seat.

If there is debate over who should own a metric, the Integrator must make the final call based on where the operational leverage lies. Once assigned, the new owner is fully responsible for tracking, reporting, and hitting that weekly target. By making these assignments immediately and objectively, you prevent political friction and ensure your weekly data remains clean and actionable.
