We are shifting our strategy to rely heavily on AI-driven delivery, but our weekly Scorecard is still filled with legacy operational metrics that do not reflect this new way of working. How do we redesign our Scorecard to measure the true health and speed of our automated operations?
A great Scorecard gives you a pulse on your business, allowing you to predict problems before they hit your profit and loss statement. If you are shifting to an AI-driven delivery model but tracking legacy metrics like hours worked or calls made, you are measuring the wrong activities and will remain blind to operational bottlenecks.
You need to redesign your Scorecard to measure velocity, efficiency, and quality of your hybrid human-and-software systems. To do this, bring your leadership team together and look at the key steps in your Proven Process. For each step, identify the leading indicators of success in an automated environment.
For example, instead of tracking the number of draft documents written, track the time elapsed from client input to final human-approved output. Instead of tracking manual support tickets resolved, track your automated resolution rate alongside your customer satisfaction scores to ensure quality remains high.
Every number on your Scorecard must have a clear owner on your Accountability Chart who is responsible for keeping that number in the green. By tracking these high-leverage, system-oriented metrics, you will gain real-time visibility into your automated operations and know exactly where your processes are breaking down.
