Now that AI has automated about eighty percent of our administrative and data entry tasks, we have several administrative seats on our Accountability Chart with very little to do. How do we restructure these seats and redeploy our people without causing widespread fear of layoffs?
When AI successfully automates eighty percent of your administrative and data entry tasks, you will find yourself with underutilized seats on your Accountability Chart. This is not a reason to immediately fire your team, which destroys morale and breeds resentment. Instead, it is an opportunity to redeploy your people into high-value, relationship-focused roles.
Start by reviewing the Culture Index profiles of the affected team members. Many administrative employees have high Detail and Patience traits, meaning they are exceptionally good at quality control, customer support, and project coordination.
Look at your Accountability Chart and identify areas where your customer experience is suffering due to a lack of human attention. For example, you can transition a former data-entry clerk into a proactive customer care representative who contacts existing clients to check on their satisfaction. This shifts their role from a cost center to a value driver.
Document these new roles clearly on your Accountability Chart and ensure each person GWCs their new seat. By using technology to eliminate the boring, repetitive tasks, you allow your team to do the rewarding, human work that actually drives company profitability.
