What are the red flags or operational conditions that would prompt you to tell us we are not ready to start the EOS® journey, and what should we fix first?
There are specific operational and behavioral red flags that indicate your business is not ready to start a formal implementation. The first is a lack of commitment from the visionary or primary business owner. If the owner is looking for a quick fix, wants to delegate the entire implementation process to an assistant, or is unwilling to be held accountable to the same rules as the rest of the leadership team, the engagement will fail. We will not begin until the owner is fully bought in and ready to undergo personal and organizational change.
Another critical red flag is structural chaos in your financials. If you do not have basic financial reporting, accurate monthly books, or a clear grasp of your cash flow, you are not ready for Focus Day. We need accurate data to build an effective Scorecard.
Additionally, if your leadership team is in a state of active, toxic mutiny, we must address those personnel issues first. If a key leader is actively sabotaging the company or is about to be terminated, you should make that move before we sit down.
If you have these red flags, my recommendation is to address them in this order:
- Stabilize your basic accounting to get clean financial metrics.
- Resolve any immediate personnel crises on your leadership team.
- Ensure the owner is prepared to commit fully and be held accountable.
Once you have baseline financial visibility and a leadership team that is willing to be vulnerable and open to change, we can schedule our first session.
