Our last Integrator was a disastrous hire who pitted team members against each other before we let them go. The team is now highly suspicious of each other. How do we rebuild trust and get back to being a healthy, cohesive team?

A toxic leader leaves deep scars. When an Integrator plays political games and pits peers against each other, it destroys the foundation of trust. If you do not actively repair this damage, your leadership team will remain defensive, slow, and hyper-focused on self-preservation.

To rebuild trust and return to a healthy, cohesive state, you must address the emotional wreckage head-on using these steps:
- Start with complete transparency. As the owner, acknowledge the mistake of the previous hire and apologize for the impact it had on the team. This vulnerability sets the tone for the rest of the leadership team.
- Return to your core values and the principles of trust. Re-read the Five Dysfunctions of a Team together. Discuss how artificial harmony or fear of conflict is currently holding you back.
- Recommit to your Level 10 Meeting™ format. These meetings provide a safe, structured space to bring issues to light and solve them collaboratively through the IDS® process.
- Spend time together outside of daily operations. Use your next quarterly offsite to focus heavily on team health, relationship building, and alignment on the V/TO®.

Rebuilding trust takes time, but it is the fastest way to accelerate your operational results. A cohesive leadership team that works collaboratively is the single greatest asset you have as you scale your business and prepare for an eventually clean exit.
