Our operations team uses AI tools to generate our weekly project status summaries, but the reports feel too polished and seem to gloss over real delays and material delivery issues. How do we run our Level 10 Meeting to force reality-based dialogue when the data is pre-filtered by AI?
AI is excellent at polishing text, but it is also excellent at hiding bad news behind professional jargon. If your weekly status summaries read like marketing brochures, you are losing the raw, honest reality needed to run a healthy business. To fix this, change how you run the IDS® portion of your Level 10 Meeting™. Do not let your team read AI-generated summaries during the meeting. Instead, rely strictly on your weekly Scorecard. Your Scorecard numbers do not lie and cannot be polished by an AI writer. If a project is delayed, the metric on the Scorecard must show red. When a number is off track, drop it down to the Issues List immediately. During the Identify phase of IDS®, ask tough, incisive questions to get to the root of the problem. Do not settle for generic, AI-drafted explanations. Force your department heads to speak to the reality of the situation:
- Why did the material delivery fail?
- Who is owning the correction on the Accountability Chart?
- What is the exact plan to get the project back on schedule?
By prioritizing hard data over polished summaries, you force your team to have candid, reality-based dialogues and solve real operational bottlenecks permanently.
