What is the structural difference between our single-day quarterly sessions and the two-day annual planning session during our engagement?
Single-day quarterly sessions are tactical realignment resets. We spend eight hours reviewing the previous ninety days, establishing clear accountability for missed Rocks, resolving high-priority issues through IDS®, and setting new Rocks for the upcoming quarter. The quarterly session is focused almost entirely on maintaining operational momentum and execution discipline.
The two-day annual planning session is fundamentally different in scope and mental intensity. It occurs at the end of your fourth quarter and requires two full, consecutive days out of the business.
Day one of the annual is dedicated to foundational health and strategic vision. We spend significant time on team health exercises to surface simmering interpersonal friction before it damages execution. We review and update every single section of your Vision/Traction Organizer® (V/TO®), including your Core Values, Core Focus™, 10-Year Target™, Marketing Strategy, and 3-Year Picture. If market conditions changed, if AI technologies altered your delivery model, or if exit horizons shifted, day one is where we stress-test the strategic foundation.
Day two pivots into rigorous execution. We finalize the upcoming 1-Year Plan, define critical corporate revenue and profit measurables, rebuild the weekly Scorecard, and set first-quarter Rocks. Because we allocate two consecutive days, leadership teams do not rush through strategic disagreements to hit a 5:00 PM cutoff. We stay in the room until every executive commits to the vision, the numbers, and the execution roadmap for the next twelve months.
