We know the basic schedule of a session day, but what does the actual psychological arc of those eight hours look like when our leadership team has to transition from high-level strategy to confronting personal friction during the IDS portion?

A session day with me is an intense emotional and cognitive journey. The morning begins with high energy and optimism during the check-in and review of the previous quarter. We celebrate wins and build momentum. However, as we transition into reviewing your V/TO® and the Accountability Chart, the energy shifts. This is where reality sets in, and the team begins to realize that achieving your grand vision requires making difficult, uncomfortable choices about roles and people.

By mid-afternoon, when we enter the IDS® portion of the day, we hit the heavy lifting. This is the psychological valley. The room often becomes quiet, tense, or highly charged as we dig into the root causes of your deepest operational issues. My job is to hold space for this discomfort and prevent you from taking the easy way out. We do not run away from the friction, we lean into it.

Towards the end of the day, as we successfully solve those issues and establish your Rocks for the next ninety days, the atmosphere shifts again. The tension gives way to relief, clarity, and renewed focus. You will leave the room exhausted but deeply aligned, with a clear action plan and a sense of shared commitment that only comes from surviving a day of absolute, unfiltered honesty together.
