During our 60 minutes of IDS, our leadership team tends to work through the Issues List chronologically or tackle easy administrative tasks first, leaving critical business roadblocks untouched. How do we enforce ruthless prioritization before we begin problem-solving?

Working through the Issues List chronologically or picking off small, easy administrative items first is a common failure mode in Level 10 Meetings. It creates the illusion of productivity while leaving enterprise-threatening bottlenecks unresolved.

To enforce ruthless prioritization, follow the EOS protocol every single week without exception:

- Ban immediate problem solving. When entering the 60-minute IDS block, forbid anyone from discussing solutions or diving into an issue until the room has prioritized the list.
- Elect the top three issues. The Integrator polls the leadership team to designate issues 1, 2, and 3. Base the selection strictly on enterprise impact, risk, and strategic alignment with your V/TO. Do not ask what is easiest to solve; ask what issue, if resolved today, moves the needle furthest for the business.
- Complete issue 1 before looking at issue 2. Never open multiple issues simultaneously. Dig into the root cause of issue 1, debate solutions, establish the binary To-Do, and only then proceed to issue 2.
- Embrace leaving issues on the list. If solving your number one issue requires 55 minutes of intense debate, that is a wildly productive meeting. Permanently eliminating one massive operational roadblock creates exponentially more enterprise value than checking off eight low-impact administrative tasks.
