Our weekly Issues List is always topped by internal, department-specific complaints, which means we consistently ignore client-facing issues that directly affect our retention and revenue. How do we re-prioritize our IDS® queue to ensure the customer always comes first?
When internal, department-specific issues dominate your Level 10 Meeting™, you are neglecting the very people who fund your operations: your clients. To prevent internal politics from hijacking your IDS® time, you must change how you prioritize your short-term Issues List.
The Integrator should guide the team to look at the list through the lens of your Core Focus and your clients. Before voting on the top three issues to solve, ask the team which issues are directly impacting the customer experience or threatening revenue.
These client-facing issues must always be placed at the top of the priority list. Internal administrative improvements can wait, but a client issue that risks retention cannot.
You can also use your weekly Scorecard metrics to guide your prioritization. If your customer satisfaction or delivery metrics are red, any issues related to those numbers must automatically jump to the top of the queue.
By maintaining this customer-centric discipline, you ensure that your weekly ninety-minute pulse is spent solving the problems that have the greatest impact on your business's health and long-term value, rather than just resolving internal friction between departments.
