It is easy for a leadership team to get distracted by shiny new AI tools, which can quickly fracture your focus and waste valuable resources. To prevent this, you must filter every proposed AI project through your V/TO.

When a team member suggests a new AI automation tool, ask how it directly supports your 1-Year Plan or your 3-Year Picture. If the project does not help you achieve your primary business targets or solve a major bottleneck on your current Issues List, put it on your long-term Issues List to review during your next quarterly session.

If an AI project does align with your V/TO, scope it as a quarterly Rock. Assign clear ownership to a single person on your Accountability Chart and define what success looks like in ninety days.

By using your V/TO as a filter, you ensure that your team only invests time and money into AI initiatives that drive your core business strategy forward, keeping your operations lean and your entire leadership team aligned on the same goals.
