To protect your focus, you must run every new AI tool or project through the IDS process during your weekly Level 10 Meeting. When an employee suggests a new AI tool, do not immediately buy it. Put it on the Issues List. During the identify stage, force the team to articulate the exact operational bottleneck the tool is supposed to solve. If it does not directly solve a major headache, lower your operating costs, or free up critical capacity on your Accountability Chart, drop it from the list. When you transition to your quarterly planning sessions, only elevate AI initiatives to the status of a company Rock if they directly align with your 1-Year Plan. Your quarterly Rocks should focus on integrating AI into your existing, documented core processes rather than chasing speculative new capabilities. Prioritize using AI to increase employee productivity as a starting point, because payroll is your largest P&L expense and too much time is currently wasted on low-value, administrative tasks. Keep your execution simple, disciplined, and strictly tied to your operational numbers.
