Our Level 10 Meeting segue consistently balloons from five minutes to fifteen because our leaders treat it as unstructured social time to trade weekend stories and banter. How do we keep the segue warm without letting casual small talk derail the agenda?

The five-minute segue is an intentional transition designed to pull leaders out of the operational whirlwind and ground them in the room. It is not social coffee hour, and it is not open mic night. Allowing casual banter to eat fifteen minutes signals that meeting time is not respected.

If your team struggles with conversational sprawl during the segue, install rigid guardrails:
- Enforce the two-bullet format. Each leader shares exactly one personal win and one professional win. No narrative backstories, no photo sharing, and no side commentary from other leaders.
- Go around the horn quickly. The facilitator calls on leaders in rapid succession. Each person gets thirty to forty-five seconds maximum. When their two points are stated, the next person speaks immediately.
- Cut off cross-talk. When other leaders jump in to ask follow-up questions about someone's weekend trip or golf score, the Integrator must step in: Great win, save the details for lunch. Next person.

Building team health does not require burning valuable IDS time. If the leadership team genuinely craves social connection, schedule a dedicated quarterly team dinner or a monthly lunch. The Level 10 Meeting is an operational engine. Protect the ninety-minute box by starting on time, ending the segue at minute five, and diving straight into the Scorecard.
