We are approaching the end of our first full year of running on EOS® and the initial excitement has worn off, leaving the team feeling like the Level 10 Meeting™ and quarterly sessions have turned into routine administrative homework. How do we inject fresh energy into our EOS® practice so the discipline remains a growth engine rather than a chore?
When the initial novelty of EOS® fades, it is common for the tools to feel like administrative routines. To prevent this, you must treat your quarterly sessions as a strategic pause to reboot and reflect. Use this time to step back from daily execution, gain objectivity, and assess your progress. First, refresh your V/TO®. Revisit your 10-Year Target™ and challenge your team to think bigger. If your goals have become too safe, your weekly meetings will feel boring. Set ambitious, exciting quarterly Rocks that force the team to innovate rather than just maintain the status quo. Second, audit your Level 10 Meeting™ agenda. If the meeting feels dry, it is usually because you are spending too much time reporting and not enough time solving hard problems. Shake up your Issues List. Put your biggest, most terrifying operational bottlenecks on the board and run a raw, honest IDS® session. Finally, rotate meeting leadership or change the physical environment of your quarterly sessions. Re-evaluating your Core Values and celebrating major wins from the past year helps the team remember why you implemented these disciplines in the first place. By focusing on high-stakes strategic growth rather than routine compliance, you ensure that the system remains an active engine for scaling your business.
