Agenda creeping is a subtle form of operational chaos that destroys the focus of your Level 10 Meeting™. When team members are allowed to inject new, unvetted issues mid-meeting, you end up reacting to the loudest or most recent complaint rather than solving your most systemic bottlenecks. To prevent this, you must implement a strict lockdown protocol. At the start of the IDS® portion, the team takes sixty seconds to review the entire Issues List and agree on the top three items to solve today. Once those top three are selected and ranked, the agenda is officially locked. Any new issue that arises or is remembered during the meeting must be placed at the bottom of the Issues List for the following week. No exceptions are made unless the business is actively on fire. If a team member tries to redirect the conversation to a new topic, the facilitator must immediately intervene and say, That is a valid point, let us add it to the list for next week, and then redirect the focus back to the current active issue. This discipline protects your focus, ensures you solve your highest-priority problems first, and teaches the team to respect the agreed-upon agenda.
