One of our leaders consistently uses their professional win during the Level 10 Meeting segue to deliver a lengthy project status report or lobby for an upcoming decision. How do we stop leaders from weaponizing the segue to pitch agenda items early?

The segue has a single purpose: to transition leaders out of their tactical daily firefights and connect them as a unified team before tackling the company's biggest obstacles. When a leader uses their professional win to deliver a multi-minute project update or subtly lobby the room on a pending initiative, they are hijacking the agenda to bypass prioritization.

The facilitator must cut this off mid-sentence. You do not wait until they finish their monologue to deliver feedback. As soon as the win turns into an operational status update or a justification for an upcoming proposal, step in and state: That sounds like a project report or an issue, not a personal or professional win. Let us put that on the Issues List and keep the segue moving.

Define clear boundaries for professional wins. A win is an outcome that is already achieved, such as closing a key client, launching a new feature on schedule, or hiring a critical role. It is never an update on work in progress, and it is never a pitch for resources. Keep the segue strictly under ninety seconds per person. If a leader repeatedly violates the format, the Integrator must address it during their next quarterly 5-5-5 check-in as a failure to respect the meeting pulse.
