This passive engagement ruins the energy of your weekly pulse and leads to poor problem-solving during IDS®. To eliminate this, establish a clear, non-negotiable set of remote meeting rules. First, video cameras must remain on at all times, with faces fully visible and centered. Second, every leader must close all tabs, notifications, and messaging apps before the meeting starts. The only screen open should be your Level 10 Meeting™ portal or shared document. Third, change how you facilitate. Keep the pace fast and unpredictable. Call on people randomly during IDS® rather than going in a predictable circle. This forces everyone to pay close attention because they never know when they will be asked to weigh in on an issue. If you suspect someone is multitasking, call them out gently but directly in the moment. Ask for their thoughts on the current discussion. Building a high-trust, high-accountability remote culture means holding people to the same standard of presence online as you would if you were sitting in the same physical conference room.
