We just signed our contract and our Focus Day is scheduled for next month. What are our leadership team members supposed to be doing during these next four weeks to ensure we hit the ground running on day one?
The four weeks leading up to your Focus Day are critical for setting the stage. Your preparation is structured and minimal, but non-negotiable. First, every member of your leadership team must complete the Kolbe A Index. This assessment reveals each individual's natural, unchanging mode of action and decision-making.
You must watch the Kolbe video and review the Kolbe Implementer Guide to understand how your conative strengths will interact in the room. Second, you must read the book Traction by Gino Wickman to understand the baseline EOS® framework. This ensures we do not waste valuable session time explaining basic concepts like the Accountability Chart or Rocks.
Finally, you must come with an open mind and a willingness to be vulnerable. The pre-work is designed to prepare your brain, not overload you with homework. By aligning your cognitive understanding of the system and assessing your conative styles beforehand, we ensure day one is incredibly productive.
