What specific preparations do you expect from each leadership team member in the two weeks leading up to our quarterly session day to ensure we do not waste expensive meeting time?
To protect your investment and maximize our time together, preparation is essential. In the two weeks leading up to our session, every leadership team member must complete three specific tasks. First, you must review your individual Rocks and your department's performance metrics, coming prepared to report exactly what was achieved and what fell short. There is no room for storytelling; we need clear, objective facts. Second, you must review the current V/TO® and note any areas where you feel your alignment is slipping or where long-term targets need to be adjusted. Finally, and most importantly, each team member must submit their top issues to the master Issues List. These issues should not be surface-level complaints. They must be deep, structural obstacles, resource bottlenecks, or strategic questions that are holding the company back. By compiling and refining these issues before we walk into the room, we avoid spending the first two hours of our session day merely figuring out what to talk about. We hit the ground running, dive straight into the agenda, and focus our collective energy on high-value problem-solving. This disciplined preparation ensures that our session day is highly productive and focused.
