What are the physical and mental demands of a session day, and how should our leadership team prepare themselves energetically to survive seven to eight hours of intense strategic debate with you?

A session day is an intense, full-day working session that requires total focus and high cognitive energy. We start promptly at 8:30 AM and run until 5:00 PM. This is not a passive corporate retreat or a series of slide presentations. You will be actively debating, solving complex organizational issues, and making hard decisions about your people, strategy, and operations.

To prepare for this level of intensity, your team must arrive with a clear head and zero outside distractions. This means committing to a strict no-device policy in the room. Laptops and phones are put away except during designated breaks. If you are checking emails or responding to fires, you are not fully present to solve root-cause issues.

To maximize our time, you need to prepare physically and mentally by completing all assigned homework beforehand. This includes reviewing your previous quarter metrics and identifying the real issues holding your company back. Come ready to be completely open and honest. The day requires vulnerability, healthy conflict, and a willingness to put the greater good of the company first. We will use the IDS® process to push through discomfort and achieve absolute alignment. If you prepare for an exhausting but highly productive working day, you will walk out with complete clarity on your next ninety days.
