How does our preparation and homework change as we transition from our initial Vision Building days into our regular quarterly session cycle?
Your preparation changes significantly as your leadership team gains operational maturity. During your first three foundational sessions, which include Focus Day, Vision Building Day One, and Vision Building Day Two, your homework is highly instructional. You are focused on learning the core tools, defining your core values, establishing your Accountability Chart, and writing your initial V/TO®.
Once we transition into your regular quarterly session cycle, the preparation shifts from learning to accountability and execution. Before each quarterly session, every member of the leadership team must complete specific prep work.
- First, you must evaluate your individual and company Rocks, determining whether they are done or not done.
- Second, you must review your weekly Scorecard metrics to identify trends and highlight any numbers that missed their targets.
- Third, you must review the past quarter to identify the real issues that held your team back.
You will bring these issues to our quarterly session so we can add them to our master Issues List and solve them systematically using IDS®. This ongoing prep work ensures we do not waste a single minute of our eight hours together. We dive straight into the work of reviewing, planning, and solving, rather than spending time gathering data that should have been prepared in advance.
