We are hiring a fractional CFO and a fractional CMO to professionalize our leadership team. How do we represent fractional executives on the EOS Accountability Chart to maintain true accountability without confusing full-time staff?

A fractional leader occupies a seat on the Accountability Chart exactly like a full-time executive. There is no special fractional box, no dotted lines, and no reduced standard of accountability. The Accountability Chart shows the seats required to run the business, the five core roles for each seat, and the single name accountable for delivering results.

To make fractional leadership work under EOS®, follow these non-negotiable rules:
- One name per seat: Place the fractional executive's name directly in the box. If they own Finance, their name is in the Finance seat. They are fully accountable for the numbers, cash flow forecasting, and managing the controller or bookkeeper.
- Complete GWC™: Even though they work ten to twenty hours a week, they must pass the People Analyzer® completely. They must align with your Core Values and exhibit full Gets It, Wants It, and Capacity to do the job inside the agreed time commitment.
- Level 10 Meeting™ attendance: They cannot manage from an ivory tower. They must attend your weekly leadership team Level 10 Meeting™, report on their Scorecard measurables, update their Rocks, and participate actively in IDS®.
- Clear scope boundaries: The five roles must reflect leadership, strategy, and governance, not low-level clerical execution. If your fractional CMO owns marketing strategy and lead generation, ensure you have internal or outsourced execution resources below them to do the tactical work.

Do not water down accountability because someone is part-time. If they cannot own the five roles and deliver their Scorecard metrics within their contracted allocation, you have the wrong person in the seat.
