I want to step back into the Owner's Box as I implement EOS®, but my leadership team still relies on me to break ties. How do we use a formal Charter alongside our Accountability Chart™ to build a self-managing team?

Moving into the Owner's Box requires more than just updating the Accountability Chart™. If your leadership team is still pulling you back into daily decisions, you have an operational boundary issue. To fix this, you must implement a formal Charter alongside your EOS® tools.

A Charter is a signed covenant that defines the exact rules of engagement between the owner and the leadership team. It outlines what decisions the Integrator has total authority over, and what specific strategic matters require owner approval. It eliminates ambiguity simply by existing.

Combine this with strict adherence to your weekly Level 10 Meeting™. If a team member approaches you during the week with an operational problem, do not solve it. Your only response must be to ask if they have dropped it onto their Level 10 Meeting™ Issues List.

By forcing the team to resolve issues through the IDS® process without your intervention, you build their operational self-sufficiency. This protects your time, allowing you to focus on high-level strategy and AI-driven efficiency, while the Integrator runs the business day-to-day.
